Following a diverse and rewarding career in teaching, I founded SOFEA in order to give vulnerable youngsters educational and occupational opportunities they may not have been afforded otherwise. Our unique approach gives our young people a sense of purpose and meaning, allowing them to flourish both academically and professionally.
I founded SOFEA with Richard [Kennell, CEO] because we wanted to show that we could help people to transform their lives. I firmly believe in the power of consistent nurture and approach to enable people to move forward and to open themselves up to growth.
Everyone has had the chance to train and hone their skills. It sparks conversation from the learners about nutrition and how to eat better to get fitter. It also helps the learners improve their mental health and some find a talent for martial arts they never knew they had.
